WEEK THIRTY—TWO: Friday, June 30—Thursday, July 6, 2006

  1. REPENTANCE FOR SIN IN THE CHURCH: THE FRUIT OF JEZEBEL (Part Two)

Through Jezebel’s manipulation, intimidation, and control the church of Jesus Christ has:

    1. FAILED TO LOVE GOD WITH HEART, SOUL, STRENGTH AND MIND

      • Luke 10:27 ... failed to love God and neighbor

      • Rom. 12:9 ... failed to walk in pure love of the Father within the Body of Christ

      • Acts 2:44-47 ... failed to have all things in common

      • John 14:15,21,23 ... failed to demonstrate love through keeping of commandments

    2. FAILED TO BE DISCIPLES AND LOVE THE LOST

      • Luke 9:23 ... failed to take up the Cross daily and follow Christ

      • Luke 14:33 ... failed to forsake all and become a disciple

      • 1 Peter 2:21 ... failed to IMITATE AND FOLLOW CHRIST’S EXAMPLE

      • Acts 1:8 ... failed to be a witness for Christ ... love life more than a soul

      • Ezek. 33:11 ... the Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked

“Father God, as we have read through this teaching, we thank You for searching our own hearts to see if there be any wicked way within us. We ask You to forgive our sins, as You reveal them to us, and to help us to be transformed more and more into Your image—Christ within, the hope of Glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

  2. REPENTANCE FOR THE SINS OF THE NATION: CHINESE SLAVERY

The injustices suffered by Chinese immigrants in America are too numerous to detail here. Instead, we offer a brief overview of one of the major sorrows in our nation’s history: the building of the transcontinental railroad.

Chinese Immigrants and the Building of the Transcontinental Railroad

    In Asian American Voices)

“Father God, we bring before you the Chinese Exclusion Act, and all of the injustices suffered by the Chinese and Asian peoples who came to settle this great land in days past. We repent for the unkindness shown these immigrants by our government, and we stand in the gap, asking forgiveness for our misdeeds, in Jesus’ Name.”

“We bring before you, too, the many Asian gangs that now roam the streets of America, and we lay axe to the root of bitterness that fuels their criminal activities, and ask that You bring healing to all Asian Americans now living in our midst. We ask this in Jesus’ Name, amen.”

“Come now, let us reason together; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” (Isaiah 1:18)

  3. THE BLESSING OF ISRAEL: THE BATTLE IN GAZA

[Editor’s note: We realize that this section is longer than most, but due to the seriousness of the situation in Israel in this hour, we do not feel at liberty to delete any portion of this prayer. We continue to thank Eliyahu Ben-Haim and the Intercessors for Israel for their permission to post these anointed prayers during our 40 weeks of fasting. Shalom.]

Thanks to the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps but keeps watch over Israel. Ps. 121:4

After a time of thanksgiving we began to pray into the situation in Gaza and to ask the Lord to be glorified in the midst of the troubles.

Mal 1.5 Your eyes shall see, And you shall say, ‘The LORD is magnified beyond the border of Israel.'

We prayed from Joshua 5:13-15 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?" So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?" Then the Commander of the LORD'S army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.”sAnd Joshua did so.

We acknowledged that even as the army of Israel in Joshua's time was not godly or holy but yet the Lord was with them. Today the IDF is neither godly nor holy but we beseech the Lord to be with them.

Also Ex. 19:4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself.

Lev. 26:8-9 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. ‘For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you.

We prayed especially for the believing soldiers serving on the front lines. Even in the IFI team, one of our children is now on the Gaza line and 2 are facing Hezbollah in Lebanon.

We prayed not only for the Lord to protect them, but also the men they are serving with.

We prayed for the soldier Gilad Shalit:

    • For his safety.
    • For a quick rescue.
    • For the IDF to have good intelligence.
    • For the Lord to reveal Himself to Gilad in his captivity. We remembered that the last 3 soldiers who were captured (they were also killed but their bodies were held for ransom), had shared a tent with a believer and they had heard the Gospel.
    • For him to cry out to the God of Israel, knowing that He will answer.

We realize that this battle in Gaza is really a fight over the whole Land of Israel.

Lord cause the government to do Your will. Hosea 2:6 “Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, And wall her in, So that she cannot find her paths.

With weak and foolish leaders whose policy have already brought us to this situation there is a great danger that they will either do way too little or in fear overreact and do something stupid and dangerous.

While capitulating to the enemy will further weaken Israel, yet in the past we have refused to negotiate for living captives and ended up releasing many terrorists just to get our dead soldiers bodies back.

We prayed for the Body to wake up and realize that this battle in Gaza is OUR battle as well.

    • Deliver the Body from self centeredness and even contentedness.
    • The Body must awake to the fact that He is not only our personal savior, but He is also the God of History.

Bring us into our priestly function of interceding for our people. Joel 2:17 Let the priests, who minister to the LORD, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, "Spare Your people, O LORD, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?'“

Prayer for the House of Israel:

    • Recognize that we are being led by arrogant, presumptuous and foolish men.
    • We need the government to humble themselves and receive wisdom from the Lord.

Realize that the destruction of the Jewish communities in Gaza was a strategic mistake and is greatly complicating the rescue of our soldier and defeating the terrorists.

May this terrible situation but a stop to all plans to destroy the Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
