I. REPENTANCE FOR SIN IN THE CHURCH: GREED

There's nothing wrong with having money. It's when we love it and it becomes our god, that we are in sin. "For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute (mental) pangs." (I Timothy 6:10 AMP)

Are we hoarding our blessings or are we a conduit of them? Are we giving to a ministry or to the widow or fatherless when the need arises? God's Kingdom plan is the opposite of the world's. The more we give, the more we'll receive. It's not how much we give, but how much remains once we give. Let's look how Jesus responded to the giving of rich people and a poor widow: "Looking up, [Jesus] saw the rich people putting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw also a poor widow putting in two mites. And He said, truly I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for they all gave out of their abundance (their surplus); but she has contributed out of her lack and her want, putting in all that she had on which to live." (Luke 21:1-4 (AMP)

What is most important is not what we have in our lives, but who we have in our lives (Jesus Christ). Having faith, hope and love in Him is what everyone needs and is the most important fact in our lives. Amen!

II. REPENTANCE FOR THE SINS OF THE NATION: PLACING ACTIVIST JUDGES IN THE COURTS OF AMERICA

For 40 years, the anti-God Left has been using America's courts to impose an anti-religion, anti-family agenda on America -– an extremist agenda that politicians (even most liberals) would never dare vote for. Liberals want to impose their political agendas on us through the Courts. They do so by working to place "activist judges" on our courts who are making laws -- not interpreting them -- as mandated by the Constitution.

Liberals know they can't win victories at the ballot box any more and they aren't winning legislative victories either. They are still counting on liberal judges to impose immoral political agendas upon the American people through judicial edict! The court system is their last bastion of undemocratic control over us.

The Supreme Court's recent banning of the Ten Commandments from court house walls in Kentucky—and the Court's extra-constitutional assault on private property in the eminent domain case—are both examples of an out-of-control Court. We must have judges on the Supreme Court and on other federal courts who respect the Constitution—and who will not impose liberal social engineering upon us. (Source: Traditional Values Coalition)

Hearings for the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee, Judge Samuel Alito, begin shortly and the battle lines have been drawn. The American Bar Association has endorsed him and holds him in highest regard for his integrity and abilities to interpret constitutional law. On the other hand, there are those in the conservative camp that fear his previous support of Roe v. Wade should disqualify him from serving as a conservative judge.

Prayer Points

• Pray for wisdom for Judge Alito as he answers the questions he is asked.
• Pray that those examining him would be open and fair in their inquiries.
• Pray that God would have His way throughout the confirmation process.
• Pray that attempts to waste taxpayer money by filibustering would fail in favor of a simple up and down vote in the Senate.
• Pray that righteous judges would replace the ungodly ones in all judicial districts.

III. THE BLESSING OF ISRAEL: ARIEL SHARON

At this writing, Ariel Sharon has just come out of his third surgery in as many days, as doctors attempt to stem the injury he received on Wednesday when Sharon experienced a massive stroke. This week, we pray for the stability and security of Israel at this crucial time.

This situation concerning Sharon has shocked many in this nation—from political leaders to the people of the land.

• Keep this nation stable and together.
• Reign in man's flesh. "And Asa cried unto LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee." (2 Chronicles 14:11)
• Yeshua, we remind You that the government ultimately rests on You: "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of LORD of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:7)
• "I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies." (Psalms 18:1-3)
• Receive all the glory out of this situation. "Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased." (Psalms 115:1-3)
• Concerning Israel's enemies—overrule and override all the plans of the wicked. "LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands." (Psalms 9:16)
